Barry McCarthy is President, CEO and Director of Deluxe, a NYSE listed (DLX), Fortune 1000 company generating more than $2.2 billion in annual revenue.  He transformed the 107-year-old company from a check printer into a Trusted Payments and Business Technology company. 

Today, Deluxe processes nearly $3 trillion in annual digital payment volume or roughly 15% of US GDP.  In 2021, DLX stock appreciated nearly 3x faster than its industry peers.  In recognition of this transformation, he was name 2022 EY Entrepreneur of the Year®, Heartland.  His book, Small Business Revolution, published by Wiley & Sons, debuted at #2 on the Wall Street Journal Best Seller list.  Through Deluxe, he produced the twice EMMY-nominated, #1 unscripted lifestyle program on Hulu by the same name.  Barry is a Forbes Contributing Editor, has been profiled in Time, twice appeared on Jim Cramer’s Mad Money, and featured on the cover of multiple trade publications. 

He started his career at P&G and held executive roles at First Data, Wells Fargo, Verisign and founded Silicon Valley start-up, MagnaCash.    He created or supported the creation of many everyday products including ApplePay, Google Wallet and Android Pay, web-based card payments, gift and pre-paid cards, modern ATMs, and dozens of personal care products for Oil of Olay, Old Spice, Secret, and Pantene. Barry serves on the Board of Deluxe and previously served on the Boards of Bank of America Merchant Services, Standard Chartered Merchant Services (Singapore), ICICI Merchant Services (Mumbai), MerchantLink and eSurg.com where he was Chairman prior to its acquisition by Henry Schein, Inc (NASDAQ: HSIC).  He advised the DOJ, FTC, Federal Reserve, Senate Banking Committee, and House Financial Services Committee on complex Payments industry issues.  Barry is passionate about economic empowerment leading to self-sufficiency, youth leadership, and education.  He serves on the Boards of the National Urban League, Carter Center, Woodruff Arts Center, Minnesota Business Partnership, Metro Atlanta Chamber and has served multiple community- or faith-based or Boards.

Barry earned an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University.  He is the proud father of 3 thriving young adults and has been married to his beautiful, best friend for 30 years.

Register for National Philanthropy Day, Nov 3
REGISTER NOW!!!  National Philanthropy Day 2022 is Thursday, November 3rd at Southern Exchange Ballrooms on Peachtree St.  The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta is proud to be the Philanthropy in the Classroom Sponsor!   With our sponsorship, we have 30 tickets and are available to our members first, then to guests.  Deadline to Register is October 20th.

Help Out with Our New Service Project to F99F
As you might know, since we resumed our in-person meetings, the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta has been giving the excess food from our lunches to Free 99 Fridge (F99F), an organization that collects excess food from restaurants and other food places and gives it to people needing food. The food is delivered to F99F locations which have a refrigerator and pantry.  Tom Cross leads this effort and we need your help.
