Easter/Passover Program: The Resurrection of Christ, the Passover–Similarity, Meaning and Relevance

The Reverend Cornelius B. Scott is an ordained Itinerant Elder and current pastor of Macedonia A.M.E. Church. He has pastored several AME churches throughout Georgia in the Sixth Episcopal District (SED). He has served on the Board of Examiners, the Finance Committee, the Ministerial Efficiency Committee, Chairperson of the Judicial Committee, and the Board of Trustees for the Sixth Episcopal District. The SED awarded him an honorary Lifetime Legends award.

           

Pastor Scott completed an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and later graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Temple University.  He continued his education and obtained a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Georgia State University.  

 

After accepting his calling to the ministry, Pastor Scott attended the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) where he graduated as the valedictorian with a Master of Divinity Degree.   He enrolled in the Chaplain Officer’s Candidate School and became a U.S. Army Chaplain attaining the rank of Captain. Pastor Scott served as a reserve Army Chaplain at Fort Benning and Fort Gordon.

 

Pastor Scott continued his secular education and earned a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from Georgia State University. He has worked as a part-time Draftsman at Pennsylvania State University and an elementary school teacher in Philadelphia and Atlanta.  After serving as teacher, Pastor Scott was promoted to Principal and served admirably as an Elementary School Principal for over twelve years. He was the Principal of a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence; named by Georgia State University as Principal of the Year, and awarded a Danforth Foundation Fellowship for School leaders

           

Upon leaving the education arena, Pastor Scott earned a Juris Doctorate Degree and now practices as a full-time Attorney with the Law Firm of Scott, Scott & Scott in Decatur, GA. He has been practicing Law for over 20 years.

           

Pastor Scott is married to Dr. Carmella Scott and they have two children and five grandchildren. He enjoys reading, classic cars, fishing, hunting and exercising. Pastor Scott is devoted to the church and his church members and loves to study his Bible regularly and diligently. His motto is: Always busy, never too busy.
