Karen Carlisle
Executive Director of Development
Kennesaw State University

Karen Carlisle joined the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta in 2015 and has served on the Interclub, Grants, Hospitality, and Invocations committees, on the club’s Board of Directors, and as Annual Fund chair of the KCA Foundation Board of Directors.   Previously, she was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta.

She is the Executive Director of Development for Kennesaw State University, raising major gifts for student and faculty support since 2015. Before joining KSU, Karen was Vice President of Development & Communications (2006-2014) for Tommy Nobis Center, a Cobb County nonprofit that provides job training and employment for people with disabilities. 

Karen has 27 years of health care industry experience, heading Government & Public Affairs for Solvay Pharmaceuticals-US, and serving previously as Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Northside Hospital, HCA West Paces Hospital, and Georgia Hospital Association. 

Karen received her MA degree in Public Relations from Georgia State University, and a BA in Journalism from Auburn University.  Her community contributions include YWCA Academy of Women Leaders, Leadership Cobb, Honorary Commanders, Cobb Executive Women Steering Committee, and various leadership positions at First United Methodist Church of Marietta.  Karen is a native Atlantan, a proud War Eagle, and a doting grandmother of two.

Help Out with Our New Service Project to F99F
As you might know, since we resumed our in-person meetings, the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta has been giving the excess food from our lunches to Free 99 Fridge (F99F), an organization that collects excess food from restaurants and other food places and gives it to people needing food. The food is delivered to F99F locations which have a refrigerator and pantry.  Tom Cross leads this effort and we need your help.

GA District Fall Conference is Oct 22 --- Plan to Attend!
The GA District Fall Conference is Saturday, Oct. 22nd at Jackson High School in Braselton, GA.  All club members are encouraged to attend.  Email Karen for more information if you are interested!
Register for National Philanthropy Day, Nov 3
REGISTER NOW!!!  National Philanthropy Day 2022 is Thursday, November 3rd at Southern Exchange Ballrooms on Peachtree St.  The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta is proud to be the Philanthropy in the Classroom Sponsor!   With our sponsorship, we have 30 tickets and are available to our members first, then to guests.  Deadline to Register is October 20th.

Are you attending the KCA weekly meetings in person all the time and want to skip the registration process?  Just email Karen at KiwanisClubAtlanta@gmail.com and have your name added to the automatic attendance list.  Easy Peasy.  All we ask is that you let us know when you ARE NOT going to be there so we don't have extra food ordered.  Add your name to the list today and we will see you on Tuesday, Jan 4th!
