David Giguere is a Geospatial Technologist in the Research and Analytics Group at the Atlanta Regional Commission with over twenty years of cartographic and GIS experience across desktop, mobile, server and online platforms. A two-decade career with the Atlanta Regional Commission provides opportunities to innovate beyond the geospatial field, as I am regularly challenged through the prototyping and deployment of emerging technologies including XR, IoT, machine learning and additive manufacturing. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Georgia State University and I am a Certified GIS Professional. As an aspiring futurist and champion of intrapreneurial innovation, I seek opportunities to design possible futures for our agency and region.

Outside of the office, I am the founder of Georgia Overland and creator of The Georgia Traverse. Provided as a free service to the community, The Georgia Traverse is a nationally recognized off-pavement overland route across North Georgia used by thousands of overland travel enthusiasts. Additionally, I pursue my interest in emerging technology by volunteering with an Atlanta-based immersive experience startup, Fanaticus XR, providing the founders with operations and business strategy support.
