Martin Dawe is a sculptor who works primarily as a commissioned artist in a variety of mediums.  Martin began his own custom sculpture studio in 1987 and incorporated as Cherrylion Studios in 1994.

Martin was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.  He moved to the United States when he was a child and grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, ten miles from Manhattan.  He studied at Boston University School of Fine Arts and received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Georgia State University.  He apprenticed for 8 years under Julian Harris, a distinguished sculptor, medalist, and Georgia Tech professor emeritus of architecture, who taught architecture at Georgia Tech for over 30 years.

All Cherrylion’s work has been on a commission basis and the studio is not represented by a gallery.

KI Youth Protection Guidelines Official Notice
Each year, KI requires all clubs to inform and educate our members on Youth Protection Guidelines, best practices and required actions for our members who work with youth under the age of 18. Attached is the latest official policy and procedure and we ask all members to review this.

Also, club members who work directly with youth under 18 years of age are required to undergo a background screening, offered through KI and accessed on the KI membership portal.  More information will be sent directly to those members who chair a youth committee, or who are listed as a volunteer with a youth committee, in the next few weeks.

Thank you for your attention to this important guideline which helps ensure that all the youth we help through our service programs are kept safe.

2024 Kiwanis Foundation of Atlanta Grants Program Now Open
Applications are now being accepted for a 2024 Grant from the Kiwanis Foundation of Atlanta.  In an effort to make more significant gifts to our non-profit partners, no new organizations may apply for a grant until the 2025 grant cycle.  If you are a current grantee and would like to be considered for a 2024 grant for a specific program targeted to at risk youth, please review the Grant Guidelines and fully complete the online Application, ensuring that your organization meets the criteria.

KCA Summer Relaxed Dress Code
It's summer and that means our club's relaxed dress code policy is in effect through September!  Sorry, this doesn't mean cut offs and flip flops, but for men, polo shirts (the club polo shirt is even better) with slacks is great and women can easily identify with Resort Casual wear.  We hope you will come to a meeting in person soon and enjoy a comfortable relaxed atmosphere at the Loudermilk Center!
KCA Parking only in Parking Deck
This is a reminder that you are not to park in the open lot across from the Loudermilk Center front doors.  Only park in the parking deck for the Tuesday meetings.

The open lot is now a public lot, and you will be subject to paying their parking fees and possible booting/towing.  The club parking card or stickers will not apply to this lot.

Also, please make sure you have a decal for your car to identify that you are with the club if you park in the reserved spaces in the deck.

Thank you for your cooperation and see you at Kiwanis!
Automatic In Person Attendance Registration Available!
Are you attending the KCA weekly meetings in person all the time and want to skip the registration process?  Just email Karen at KiwanisClubAtlanta@gmail.com and have your name added to the automatic attendance list.  Easy Peasy.  All we ask is that you let us know when you ARE NOT going to be there so we don't have extra food ordered.  Add your name to the list today and we will see you on Tuesday, Jan 4th!
