STAR Student Day: "We Come as Girls, We Leave as Women"
Chrishaunda Lee Perez is a writer, producer, creator, and orator most known for her best-selling debut novel, "We Come as Girls, We Leave as Women", about teen girls overcoming personal challenges as they embark upon womanhood. This work has been endorsed by many, including Paula Wallace, President and Founder of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and heralded by Oprah Winfrey. Ms. Perez serves as an advocate for women and teen girls, engaging groups around the world, enlightening audiences about bridging gaps between teen girls and women, encouraging adults to fully consider a teenaged girl's point of view, and elevating empathetic communication as a source of relieving certain traumas and strengthening human connection. Chrishaunda Lee Perez has for decades centered her work around women and teen girls, and they often serve as a key focus in her written works, including acclaimed historical fantasy/magical realism short film, "The Forever Tree" and powerful true story of miracles, "Share The Dream: Building Noah's Ark One Prayer at a Time". Currently, Ms. Perez is in pre-production for her first narrative film about two mothers and their sons and the debilitating effects of addiction, as well as in development for the full length feature version of "The Forever Tree".

Our club is looking for folks who are willing to become part of the "Lunch Bunch" team! Team members will help the lunch meetings operate smoothly by working the a/v board and sounds system in the back, ensuring that any a/v the speakers use are properly set up, and working the microphones during the Q&A sessions!
While no technical experience is necessary, volunteers should feel comfortable and confident adjusting sound levels and setting up the computer for power point and video presentations. And the benefit is a dedicated comfy seat at the a/v table during lunch!
Do you want to let the members of our club know more about you and your business? Do you want to network and cultivate more business contacts? If you answered yes, then you need to sign up to do a "Member Spotlight" at one of our club meetings!
Are you having trouble receiving the KCA Bulletins and other email communications? It appears that computer systems/servers who use Symantec are having trouble getting communications from our ClubRunner system delivered to their inboxes. While we work on this issue with ClubRunner, I have an email list serve set up through Outlook to send the bulletins out each week to those who need it. And if you are having trouble receiving your quarterly bills, I can send them to you through QuickBooks. Just email me at KiwanisClubAtlanta@gmail.com and I will add you to the list!
