Brad Raffensperger is Georgia’s 29th Secretary of State.

Raffensperger moved to Georgia 40 years ago to raise a family and start a small business. As a licensed structural engineer, Professional Engineer, licensed in 40 states, and a licensed General Contractor in Georgia, and other states, he successfully founded Tendon Systems, a provider of high-strength steel for construction projects. Under his ownership, Tendon Systems grew to become the southeast’s largest post-tensioning specialist contractor with approximately 150 employees and projects in over 40 states. He also founded Trillium Structures, a structural design consulting firm with commercial mid-rise and high-rise projects throughout the southeast.

Raffensperger was elected to the City Council in Johns Creek, Georgia and three years later he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives where he served two-terms.

The Secretary’s top priority is secure and accessible elections and he delivered the largest implementation of voting machines in the history of this country, on time and on budget.  Under his leadership, Georgia modernized its election system by adding its first auditable paper ballot system and giving the power to secure Georgia’s elections directly to the voter. He is the first Secretary of State to pass legislation requiring photo ID for all forms of voting, and the first to hold counties accountable to voters by expanding polling places.

Raffensperger and his wife Tricia started out as high school sweethearts and have now been married for over forty-five years.  They raised three sons and immensely enjoy spoiling their three grandchildren.  They are members of North Point Community Church.

KCA Weekly Meeting Registration due on Thursdays at Noon
The deadline to submit your reservation to attend the weekly meeting is now Thursday at Noon.  The Loudermilk Center caterers need to order our food on Fridays for delivery early the next week.  So we don't have the ability to get additional food at the last minute.  If you don't have a reservation, you are welcome to attend the meeting, but must wait until after the meeting starts to see if there is food remaining.  Thanks for your help with this.
KCA Lunch Cancellation Policy
The KCA Weekly Luncheon meetings are the best place to come, hear our fabulous speakers, enjoy fellowship and a fabulous lunch.  Starting in November, our food service will again be provided by the Loudermilk Center catering department, so no more bringing in bags of meals, plates, etc.!  However, with this change we must have a firm reservation count by the Friday noon prior to the meeting.  So last minute add ons will be more difficult.  This also means that when you do make a reservation and do not attend, we have left over food that we must pay for.

Cancellation Policy: The board of directors approved a policy to begin charging all members that have a reservation, but do not attend, the cost of their meal.  Please be sure that you both make your reservation to attend, or cancel one that you may have, by Noon on the Friday prior to the luncheon!  If you currently are on the auto registration list, but are not attending regularly, please email me so that I can remove your name and you can sign up for the meetings you can attend.  And if you are attending regularly, consider adding your name to the auto registration list so that you don't have to worry about it!

Thanks for your attention to this!
Automatic In Person Attendance Registration Available!
Are you attending the KCA weekly meetings in person all the time and want to skip the registration process?  Just email Karen at KiwanisClubAtlanta@gmail.com and have your name added to the automatic attendance list.  Easy Peasy.  All we ask is that you let us know when you ARE NOT going to be there so we don't have extra food ordered.  Add your name to the list today and we will see you on Tuesday, Jan 4th!
