Allan Levey is a professor in the Department of Neurology at Emory University's School of Medicine, as well as the director of Emory's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. He has secondary faculty appointments in the Departments of Pharmacology, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  Levey is an internationally recognized expert in neurodegenerative disorders. His work has contributed to understanding the brain systems and mechanisms involved in disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, as well as in identifying molecular targets for new therapeutic strategies. He has more than 250 research publications and has won several awards. Levey consistently has been listed among one of the Best Doctors in America. His research interests include fundamental research into the cause of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, and development of new biomarkers and treatments.

Randy lost his father (age 88) and his brother (age 71) to Alzheimer’s disease.  The loss of Randy’s cherished older brother led him to retire from a successful career in advertising and marketing at the age of 69 and commit much of his free time to help end Alzheimer’s and all forms of dementia.  Randy joined the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in 2023 and serves on both the Marketing and Advocacy committees.  He’s consistently been one of the Chapter’s largest Walk Team fundraisers. Randy is also the chapter’s Ambassador for Senator Ossoff, focused on providing his office with updated progress on fighting the disease and encouraging the Senator to sponsor new legislation to support research, caregivers and early detection of the disease.

Sarah Edmundson & Anthony Ames, Podcasters TBD Aug 25, 2026 11:45 AM

Sarah Edmondson is a Canadian actress and voice-over artist who has starred in multiple TV series and more than a dozen films. Her whistleblower story following her departure from personal and professional development company NXIVM ("nex-ee-um") is told in her memoir, Scarred, the CBC podcast Uncover: Escaping NXIVM, and critically acclaimed HBO documentary series on NXIVM, The Vow. Her TEDx talk, “How to spot a cult,” is featured on TED.com.

As an actor and former college athlete, Anthony “Nippy” Ames was drawn to NXIVM’s goals program. In his twelve years with the organization, he rose steadily up the ranks as a teacher, built centers in New York and Vancouver, and met Sarah, his now wife and podcast co-host. When he learned that the company was, in fact, a dangerous cult, he wasted no time in doing exactly what needed to be done: Helping burn its carefully constructed public image to the ground.

Now based in Atlanta, Sarah and Nippy continue the conversation with the A Little Bit Culty podcast and now book of the same name—exploring the healing process with the help of experts, advocates, and fellow survivors. They attend conferences and events as speakers and cult-recovery advocates.
